Ashonti Pickney is a Speech-Language Pathologist who brings a compassionate, affirming, and play-based approach to therapy. Inspired by her own childhood experience receiving speech therapy, Ashonti understands firsthand the difference that encouragement, patience, and meaningful support can make. She is passionate about helping children build confidence through communication and believes every child deserves to feel seen, heard, and empowered. By creating engaging sessions centered around each child's unique interests and motivations, she helps make learning both meaningful and enjoyable.

Ashonti earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Central Florida in December 2022 and her Master of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders in December 2024. She has experience working with both pediatric and adult populations, including children in elementary schools and students with special needs through age 22. Ashonti has a special interest in helping clients discover the communication methods that work best for them, whether through speech, gestures, signs, AAC devices, or a combination of approaches. She celebrates all forms of communication and enjoys helping every client find their voice in a way that fits their individual strengths.

Building strong relationships with children and families is at the heart of Ashonti's therapy style. She takes time to learn what motivates each child, creating a supportive environment where clients feel comfortable exploring new skills, celebrating successes, and growing in confidence. Families appreciate her warm, collaborative approach and her commitment to making therapy engaging, individualized, and empowering. Outside of therapy, Ashonti enjoys visiting amusement parks, attending concerts, spending time at the beach or pool, exploring new restaurants, and can proudly recite the entire musical Hamilton.
