No, we currently offer speech-language therapy services only.

Do you have a physical location?

No, we are a mobile therapy practice and travel to you—whether it’s your home, your child’s daycare, etc.

What areas do you serve?

We currently serve Hillsborough, Pasco, Manatee, Sarasota, Polk, and Pinellas counties in Florida.

How do I sign up for therapy?

On our website at Playful Paths Therapy, go to the bottom of the Home page and select "Book a Free Consult."

How much therapy do you provide?

We recommend weekly sessions up to one hour, with individualized accommodations as needed.

What is Speech Therapy?

Speech-language therapy helps people improve their communication skills. It addresses a variety of communication challenges, including speech disorders, language disorders, and swallowing difficulties.

What conditions or concerns do you treat?

We treat many conditions and concerns including, but not limited to: Feeding Therapy, Auditory-Verbal Therapy, Children with Autism, Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), Language Therapy, Fluency (Stuttering) Therapy, and Articulation and Phonological Therapy.

What should I expect during the first appointment?

The first appointment is a consult where we discuss what you’re looking for and how we can best accommodate your request.

Do I need a referral from my pediatrician or primary care provider?

Yes, a referral or script for a speech-language evaluation is needed from your child’s primary pediatrician if you have CMS and want to go through them for speech therapy. A referral is not needed for private pay or Step Up.

How can I prepare my child for their first session?

We are a mobile therapy business, so we come to you. Being in their own home helps your child feel natural and comfortable in their safe space.

Can parents sit in on sessions?

Absolutely. Parent coaching is a core component of early language interventions and remains encouraged after early intervention as well. Knowing what we’re doing and why helps you support your child’s skill development.

What is your cancellation policy?

One "no show" session is allowed. Parents also receive one last-minute cancellation; after that, a $35 late cancellation fee will be imposed.

What happens if we miss a session?

If a child’s attendance is less than 80% of scheduled sessions, Playful Paths reserves the right to discharge the child and cease services.

How do you measure progress?

Progress is measured through daily SOAP notes or session notes after every session. Notes are emailed to parents.

What ages do you work with?

We work with ages birth to 3, preschool age, school age, and teens.

Do you offer payment plans?

No, we do not offer payment plans.

Do you take insurance?

No, we currently do not accept insurance. We are in the process of receiving CMS and being credentialed with Bay Area Early Steps in Fall 2025.

Do you accept Step Up For Students Scholarship?

Yes. We are proud to accept the Step Up For Students Scholarship at Playful Paths Therapy.

Is the cost the same regardless of location of service?

Yes. The stated price for one hour of treatment and/or evaluation or re-evaluation is the same regardless of the agreed-upon service location.

Will we have the same therapist?

We believe in continuity of care and strive to keep your child with the same therapist. To accommodate scheduling needs, your child will always have a qualified therapist who follows our child-led, play-based methodology, which may not always be the same therapist each time.

Do you accept Florida’s Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program Specialized Instructional Services (VPK SIS)?

Yes. We are approved for VPK SIS in Hillsborough County, Florida.
