Do you take insurance?
No, we currently do not accept insurance. We are in the process of receiving CMS, Step Up Scholarship, and to be credentialed with Bay Area Early Steps in Fall 2025.
Do you offer other therapy services (i.e., ABA, occupational, physical therapy, etc.)
No, we currently offer speech-language therapy services only
Do you have a physical location?
No, we are a mobile therapy practice where we travel to you whether it’s your home, child’s daycare, etc.
What areas do you serve?
We currently serve Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties in Florida.
How do I sign up for therapy?
On our website at playful paths therapy, at the bottom of the Home page select, “Book a Free Consult.”
How much therapy do you provide?
We recommend weekly sessions that are up to an hour, but we will make accommodations on an individualized basis.
What is Speech Therapy?
Also known as speech-language therapy, is a treatment that helps people improve their communication skills. It addresses a variety of communication challenges, including speech disorders, language disorders, and swallowing difficulties.
What conditions or concerns do you treat?
We treat many conditions or concerns including, but not limited to; Feeding Therapy, Auditory-Verbal Therapy, Children with Autism, Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), Language Therapy, Fluency (Stuttering) Therapy, Articulation and Phonological Therapy.
Do you offer Teletherapy?
Yes, we do offer Teletherapy.
What should I expect during the first appointment?
The first appointment is a consult. This is when we go over what you’re looking for, and see how we can best accommodate your request.
Do I need a referral from my pediatrician or primary care provider?
Yes, a referral or script for a speech-language evaluation is needed from your child's primary pediatrician if you have CMS and want to go through them to have speech therapy. Referral is not needed for private pay or step up.
How can I prepare my child for their first session?
We are a mobile therapy business, which means we’ll be coming to you and allow the child to feel most natural and comfortable in their safe home space.
Can parents sit in on sessions?
Absolutely, there is a component of Parent Coaching in early language interventions and encouraged after early intervention as well. It’s important to know what we’re doing and why to better help your child develop their skills.
What is your cancellation policy?
One "no show" session is allowed (meaning a session was scheduled then a parent does not show or isn't present). Parents also get one last minute cancellation then a $35 late cancellation fee will be imposed.
What happens if we miss a session?
If a child's attendance to sessions is less than 80% of sessions scheduled, PP reserves the right to discharge the child and cease services.
How do you measure progress?
Progress will be measured by daily SOAP notes or session notes after every session. Notes will be emailed to parents
What ages do you work with?
Ages birth to 3, preschool age, school age, and teens.
Do you offer payment plans?
No, we do not offer payment plans.
